Gillian Everall

Having trained in a Big Four firm and continued her career in other Top 10 firms, Gillian has over 20 years of experience in the UK private client tax arena. In the second half of her career, Gillian’s focus moved to supporting high net worth clients with international elements to their tax affairs and particularly those with US tax related issues to consider. Gillian’s clients benefit from advice she provides across a large range of issues.

These include; tax efficient business investment, the tax implications on a divorce, general remittance issues facing individuals who have previously claimed non-domiciled status, the implications of double taxation agreements on the UK tax treatment of overseas income and gains, the tax implications of having a non UK pension scheme and Inheritance Tax planning, including the use of trusts to protect family wealth.

Daniel Everall

Having studied Estate Management and obtained professional qualifications in Property Management, Daniel managed teams and property portfolios for property management companies, resident management companies, corporate landlords and private individuals.

With a wealth of experience in team building, maximising return on investment, dispute resolution, client liaison and budgetary controls, he joined Everfair Tax to become their Operations Director.

Daniel’s mix of company, staff, finance and project management skills have enabled him to review and upgrade the office software, and enhance the company’s process and procedures, whilst developing the company’s strategy for growth. And, in addition; by providing the tools and a positive environment, Daniel has assisted the personal tax team in maximising their excellent client service goals. Daniel also managed the Weybridge office move and the opening of the new London office.

Always keen to grow his knowledge and fully understand his working environment, Daniel is currently working towards his CIMA qualification.

Away from the office Daniel enjoys running marathons – if enjoy is the word, – cycling, music and watching football.

Matthew Edwards

Matthew has been advising clients with connections to the US since the late 1990s. Primarily focused on providing integrated UK and US tax advice to US nationals and “greencard” holders living in the UK, he has also spent time providing guidance to entrepreneurs and SMEs looking to expand their business activities across the Atlantic.

Over the course of his career, Matthew has worked at Frank Hirth and Ernst & Young, as well as in smaller boutique tax advisory firms. Most recently, prior to joining Everfair, he spent several of years at Satis Asset Management where he was integral in developing their UK/US private client tax practice as well as providing tax guidance and support to their team of wealth managers and financial planners.

Outside of the office, Matthew was once a keen hockey player, though now largely ‘retired’. He enjoys travelling and trying to develop his admittedly very amateur culinary skills

Lawrence Adair

Lawrence has over 25 years’ experience advising private clients on tax planning. This has covered a wide range of complex tax issues, mainly in relation to capital gains tax, inheritance tax and residence and domicile. This has included the use of UK and non-UK trusts for a range of purposes, UK property tax planning using offshore structures, the use of family investment companies and disclosures under the worldwide disclosure facility.

Early in his career Lawrence worked in a number of established Edinburgh-based accountancy firms, including Chiene & Tait. He moved to London in 2013 to join Gabelle and then worked for a number of top 50 London accountancy firms including H W Fisher and Moore Kingston Smith.

Lawrence has been a member of the Chartered Institute of Tax since 2000 after achieving first time CTA and ATT passes (also gaining a distinction and the Ivison Medal for the highest mark in the personal taxation paper). Since 2015 he has also been a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

Mark Funnell

Mark started his career in 2006 and has over 10 years’ experience within the US/UK international expat space. Mark specialises in providing in-depth tax advice, planning and compliance assistance to high-net-worth individuals from a range of backgrounds and industries, including taxpayers in transition from one jurisdiction to the other, ‘accidental Americans’ and complex pension and stock option related advice/planning.

Mark is a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) and is an Enrolled Agent (EA) eligible to practise in front of the Internal Revenue Service.

Outside of work, Mark enjoys football (both playing and watching), Olympic lifting and spending time with his family and friends.

Christopher Slaney

Chris joined the US tax team at Everfair Tax in May 2020 and has been practising US and UK tax since 2014.

Chris has experience in dealing with High Net Worth individuals that are US citizens and resident in the UK. Chris assists them with their compliance and advisory needs, whether they are here for a short stay or more long term. He has also helped many individuals become compliant with their US tax and information reporting obligations through filings under Streamlined Foreign Offshore, Relief and Delinquent International Information Return Submission procedures.

Chris is a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) and is an Enrolled Agent eligible to practice in front of the Internal Revenue Service.

Outside of work, Chris enjoys travelling, keeping fit through the odd 5-a-side football game and spending time with loved ones.

 

Indra Madan

Indra works with a wide range of clients including high-net-worth US citizens, small business owners and partners who reside in the UK. She helps her clients remain compliant within both US and UK tax jurisdictions through offering proactive cross-border tax advice and bespoke personal US and UK tax compliance tailored to individual circumstances. This includes tax planning advice in respect of US and UK residency matters, tax efficient investments and US filings under Streamlined Foreign Offshore, Relief and Delinquent International Information Return Submission procedures.

Indra is a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA), Enrolled Agent (EA) and is a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT).

Outside of work Indra is an avid baker, enjoys swimming and spending time with her family and friends.

Stanley Asumanu

Stanley started his career in 2018 and now has over 5 years of experience in US/UK Tax – Private Client. He has adequate experience in providing tax advice and compliance assistance to dual status US/UK individuals with a specialty in UK inheritance tax, US estate tax planning and trusts.

Stanley is a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) and an Enrolled Agent (EA) eligible to practice before the Internal Revenue Service.

 Outside of work, Stanley enjoys getting involved in church activities. He also enjoys watching football, anime, and spending time with family and loved ones.

Louise Burton

Louise brings a wealth of experience in business development, operations, finance, and client relationship management. Having spent the last 10 years in London within the tax industry, serving clients with US, UK and international tax obligations.  She has developed strategic industry relationships with other US advisors in wealth management, estate planning, immigration and corporate tax services for US citizens living in the UK.

 

She prides herself on her intrapreneurial spirit and willingness to do whatever it takes to ensure a superior client experience. Utilising her interpersonal and organisational skills to build and manage processes and relationships. With a focus on client service, operational proficiency and business development, Louise will be well positioned to oversee the firm’s tax technical operations, building the firm’s industry profile and network of relationships.

 

In her spare time, she enjoys travelling to sunny destinations and relaxing with family and friends. She is also an avid fan of true crime programmes and in her next life, aspires to be a criminal forensic scientist.

 

Scarlett Roland-Jones

Scarlett joined Everfair Tax as Practice Manager in 2020, and with a creative background she brings an friendly, energetic and fresh management style to the company.

Strong organisational skills enable Scarlett to carry out the smooth running of our marketing and brand activities, ensuring we’re fulfilling our commitment to upholding our values. She also manages our administration support team for the partners and office teams. Managing databases and the internal company processes, she takes pride in maintaining and maximising the efficiency of the systems she oversees.

In her free time Scarlett is a keen baker, and enjoys CrossFit as a way to maintain her fit and healthy lifestyle.
